Tonight we once again welcome the blessed month of Ramadaan. This is the month of mercy, a month of guidance, a month of the Quraan. A month of fasting, of early morning suhoors, of maghrib iftaars.
However, Ramadaan is not merely a month of sacrificing food and drink during daylight hours, it is also a time to re-align our characters, and draw closer to the sunnah and Quraan, in our mannerisms and behaviour.
“Whoever does not give up false speech and acting upon it, and ignorance, Allaah has no need of him giving up his food and drink.” (Bukhaari)
I explained to the kids that the above Hadeeth also means that during this time, we should not shout or fight with siblings, we should respect our elders and do more acts of goodness, as fasting with your body alone, is not of much benefit to you…
Here’s to wishing you all a blessed, peaceful Ramadaan full of love, light, eemaan, and taqwa! ♡♥♡♥♡♥
